If you work full time you should not be poor. Robeson county poverty rate is 28.8% nearly 3 times the state average. You can work 40 hours a week in this county and still not be able to buy grocery, pay utilities, and make rent.

Getting sick should not bankrupt a family. Period.

Diabetes, heart disease, and obesity rates are amongst the highest in the state. Too many families avoid the doctor because they can’t afford the bill. Healthcare is not a luxury.

Every person in Robeson County deserves a roof over their head Homelessness in our County is not just a particular area or one set of people it’s a quiet crisis happening in rural areas, in cars, in overcrowded homes in our county. At the same time, new housing is unaffordable and old housing is falling apart. We need solutions that are real, fast and built.

Our Children Are Not Last Place Problems They Are First Place Priority People. Robeson County ranks dead last in North Carolina for local per-student spending. Our teachers are leaving because they cannot afford to stay. This is not acceptable — and it stops when we send the Right person to Raleigh.

Robeson County Is Not a Dumping Ground. Not on My Watch.

For decades, our community predominantly Native American, Black, and low-income has absorbed the pollution, the hog lagoons, the industrial runoff, and the contaminated water that wealthier counties refused to accept. Our

children have higher rates of asthma. Our rivers have been declared unsafe. Our land has been poisoned while Others looked away.

Environmental injustice is not just an environmental issue it's a health issue, an economic issue, and a civil rights issue.
